12 Killed, 75 Injured After Ukraine Launches Drone Strike On Russian Oil Infrastructure In Tatarstan
Russia-Ukraine War: A Ukrainian drone strike on Russia's Tatarstan region killed at least 12 people and injured dozens on Monday, according to regional authorities. Reports say it is one of the deadliest single attacks carried out by Kyiv since the war began more than four years ago.
Kyiv confirmed it struck the city of Nizhnekamsk, situated more than 1,000 kilometres (620 miles) from the Ukrainian border. Located in Tatarstan, a major energy-producing region, the area houses key oil refineries that have repeatedly been targeted in Ukrainian retaliatory strikes.
'Massive' Ukrainian Drone Attack Kills 12
"According to the latest information, 12 people have been killed and 75 wounded as a result of the drone attack," the regional press service said in a statement on Monday. The Tatarstan region had earlier described the incident as a 'massive' Ukrainian drone attack.
