In a shocking incident, a 23-year-old design student was raped by the security guard of the apartment she was living in Ahmedabad's Anandnagar area.
According to a report by Gujarati Jagran, the victim used to take a walk on the roof of the PG every night after dinner. On Saturday night, while she was walking on the terrace, the accused attacked her from behind. He threw a wire around her neck and strangled her, which caused her to collapse.
The accused then raped her for about an hour. The accused has been identified as Dharam Singh, a resident of Uttar Pradesh's Hardoi. He had joined the apartment as a security guard four days back. He fled the scene with the victim's mobile phone as she was lying unconscious. He closed the terrace door behind him.
It was only after she gained consciousness that she screamed for help, and the people living on lower floors rushed to help. The police were alerted immediately, which formed 10 teams, including LCB and crime branch, to investigate the matter and nab the accused.
